I designed the 2023 issue of the Journal of Literary Translation, a biannual translation journal that features student-submitted translations of texts in a wide range of languages. On each spread, the original text is on the left in red, and its translation is always on the right in purple. The design encourages side-by-side comparison while also establishing a certain independence between original and translation. Further visual motifs reflect the fact that for every original, there can be infinite translations.
